CFMR - COMITÉ FRANÇAIS DE MÉCANIQUE DES ROCHES

Presentation
The French Committee of Rock Mechanics (CFMR) is an association under 1901 law, founded in 1967. Its aim is to promote studies of direct or indirect interest to Geotechnics, Rock Mechanics and Rock Physics and to disseminate the results (see https://www.cfmr-roches.org/presentation/statuts).
The CFMR is administered by a Board of 16 members elected for a four-year term. A quarter of the council is renewed each year. The board, which is made up of a President, two Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer and a Secretary General, is elected each year by the Board. The term of office of the President shall be limited to four years.
The CFMR organizes technical sessions at an average rate of 4 per year, which it organizes alone or in partnership with its sister companies, in Paris or in the provinces.
A scientific and technical commission, composed of members of the council and external members in direct contact with the industrial world and the academic community, is responsible for reflecting on technological innovation and feedback, emerging scientific issues and the role of education. Each year, the CFMR awards the Pierre Londe Prize, which distinguishes research work of exceptional quality sanctioned by a doctoral thesis.
The CFMR is affiliated with the International Society for Rok Mechanics (ISRM - https://isrm.net/) with which it maintains close relations.
